    I've been with the "same" company for 8 years. I've been through 2 buyouts with the company. First DoctorDirectory, INC. (DD) for 4 years before they were bought by EverydayHealth Inc (EVDH) and became an LLC under EverydayHealth Inc. Then EverydayHealth Inc was bought by Ziff Davis and the branch that I worked for became EverydayHealth Pro.


    While at DoctorDirectory, I started out as a SQL programmer and did a little bit of .NET development. I LOVE SQL. But I decided that I didn't like development as much and I wanted to move into networking. My boss was kind enough to let me transition into the networking side under the training of our network admin. Due to the work load of our SQL production team, I had to work both as a SQL programmer and learn the help desk and networking side at the same time. I did both for a year and half before we had hired enough bodies for me to fully transition. I was part of a team that upgraded our network to include a SAN and a disaster recovery plan.


    When we were bought out in 2015 by EverdayHealth I had fully transistioned into help desk/the junior network admin position. During my time with EverdayHealth I was in charge of purchasing, maintaing, disposing, and managing the equipment as well as monitoring the equipment budget. During this time we doubled the amount of people working there. In one month we had 8 new hires. While with EVDH I was part of a team that upgraded our phone system to a robust VOIP system. I managed users from both in AD and in our phone system.


    When EVDH was purchased by Ziff Davis, and we became EVDH Pro my title was changed to Systems Administrator. At this point I was the sole onsite help desk for the Asheville office. My time with EVDH Pro, I've been part of a team that once again revised our phone system in Asheville to a much more cost effective solution. I've decomissioned our previous disaster recovery solution. As well as been a part of a transistion from managing email in Exchange to managing our email system in GSuite. I continue to grow and learn as much as posible everday, both at and outside of work.
